About Nicotech

Company Information

NICOTECH has come a long way from the back bone of Megelec Ltd (Malta) which was incorporated in Malta in 1994 by my father Luigi Cacciatore. During the same year, Megelec was appointed the official distributor for Domino UK Ltd, providing support on installation and maintenance not only for Malta but for Libya, Tunisia, Ghana and Nigeria.

We are in the line of business for Continuous Ink Jet, Drop on Demand, Thermal Ink Jet, Thermal Transfer Overprint, Laser to Date Code, Batch Code, Barcode and in general servicing the industries for Coding and Marking

Following the success in Africa, Megelec Nigeria Limited was incorporated in Ibadan (Nigeria) in October 1995 to expand the operations in the continent. To date, Megelec Nigeria Limited is the biggest Domino distributor in Africa with an huge import capacity per year in Printers, Spares and Consumables.

During 2017 a big step for Megelec Ltd (Malta) was the acquisition of “Know How” as well as internal investments on Research and Development Electronic Labs. This led us to the formation and registration of NICOTECH Printing Sciences Limited in 2019, with the progressive exit from all the shares in Megelec Nigeria Limited and the release of the successful distribution of Domino products in Malta in March 2020.

NICOTECH designs and manufactures its own Printers and Software being Continuous Ink Jet, Thermal Ink Jet and Drop on Demand without losing focus on future technological developments including the formulation of our own inks. In May 2018, we achieved the first sample print on our own hardware and to move further in our vision we had to either register Nicotech as a “Trademark” of Megelec Ltd (Malta) or to register a new company for a new product without losing our 26 Years experience in the field of coding and marking.

Opting for the latter, we are now ready to offer you a new company with a great vision and a huge wealth of experience in the field.

We are also looking to promote "Made in EU" products with the top collaboration between Malta and Italy. My father's expertise and longevity in the business will prove to be invaluable in the field, which is why the knowledge will be retained in house through my father remaining a valid counsellor, collaborator and designer in the company.
